I’ve been a photographer since I was about 18 years old. It started with the Waikato Photographic Society. Then I managed a Camera shop and did wedding photography on the weekends. In those days it was all about mastering film and printing. I used a Canon F-1 with three lenses. Everything changed with digital… first a Nikon D70, then a D200, and now a Nikon D3 with a bag of top glass. I’ve been the President of the Wanganui Camera Club, a photography tutor at UCOL Wanganui, and also do one day courses.
In a previous life I completed a Ph.D. at the University of Auckland in philosophical theology. In the next life I want to be photographer again!
Joan Robinson, my partner, is a photographer based in Palmerston North. Check out her website.
